Kings road Beggar
This was my entry to Pinter Rapido 2014. A competition to paint a picture in a day within the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. I had every intention of creating a street scene in Acrylic ink. After walking about 200 yards from the registration at Chelsea old town hall, I saw this unfortunate soul and knew I just had to capture him. He sat like this whilst I sketched him for nearly an hour. He simply shrugged his shoulders at me once or twice. I gave him some coins and then decamped to a local park where I sat and scribbled like mad to get the image in on time. The picture was displayed the following day and sold within an hour.
